When working together, I may draw from the following treatment modalities:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Using a CBT approach, I'll help you explore the connections between your thoughts, behaviors, emotions, and physical reactions. My goal in using CBT is to help you to better understand your responses to your environment and teach you to identify, challenge, and adjust your limiting core beliefs and sticky thought patterns.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
When utilizing a DBT-informed approach, I'll help you achieve a balance between accepting life events and changing what's within your control. I'll equip you with a repertoire of practical and research-supported skills to utilize in various life situations. You'll learn techniques from the four main areas of DBT: distress tolerance, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
In using ACT, we'll work together to identify and refocus on what matters most to you. I'll aid you in gaining mindfulness skills that empower you to live and behave in alignment with your personal values. I'll also offer you tools to gain space from your distressing thoughts and emotions, while simultaneously helping you better tolerate them when they arise.
